2300 Residential Unit for Jamb Mount Installation:

The Power Access Model 2300 automatic door opener is designed to provide for easy opening and closing of doors by the touch of a remote control switch. When installed as detailed in the installation instructions (see links below) this residential handicap door opener for a home will function very well manually and automatically in a residential environment. We do not recommend the Model 2300 for commercial applications under any circumstances.

To activate the wireless receiver in this automatic door opener you will need one of our optional hand held remotes or a wireless wall switch. These will activate the wireless signal to open the door. The door may be opened manually too but resistance similar to the 5th gear of a car will be experienced.

When a handicapped door opener is needed for a business, church or any other business application see the 4300 commercial door opener model.

OPTIONS:
Electric strike lock.
Do you need your door to automatically unlatch? If yes, then you will need to purchase our electric strike lock #4560S. If the door swings freely you can install the blank strike plate included in your order to cover the latch and you will not need the electric strike. If you are not able to open the door by pushing against it with your back without touching the door handle, you will need the electric strike.

Keyless Entry.
We offer a coded keyless entry #4437S to enable secure access from the outside should you prefer this option to a hand held remote or wall switch.

Battery Backup.
Should you need the remote door opener to function even when the power goes out our #4403BB battery backup for emergency egress is your best choice. This is only necessary if you are physically unable to open the door manually.

Important Considerations when selecting this model:

The door must be plumb, square, and not warped.
The door should not stick to the jamb, or move within the jamb during the change of seasons.
The door should glide easily into the door-frame, and weatherproofing should not cause resistance when the latch closes into the latch plate.
When installed on a door providing garage access, the door and the garage door should be operated independently, as pressure differential can affect the proper cycling of the opener; in particular, drift.
An electric strike or ball spring should be installed to hold the door in the closed position.
The door should include a door stop such that the unit cannot open beyond 90 degrees.
The model 2300 residential handicap door opener should not be installed on an exterior out-swing door because of wind force interference.
