2300 Helpful Notes:

2300 Residential Unit for Jamb Mount Installation:
The 2300 Jamb mount handicapped door opener is designed for light residential use and is intended for use where the door is opened primarily with the electric door opener. It is not intended for use when the door is open and closed manually on a regular basis. When opened manually with this device installed, a drag will be felt on the door and the arm may jump the fitting if the door is opened too quickly. It may not be installed on exterior out-swing doors and doing so will void the warranty!

To activate the wireless receiver in this residential automatic door opener you will need one of our optional hand held remotes or a wireless push button switch. These will activate the wireless signal to open the door. The door may be opened manually too but resistance similar to the 5th gear of a car will be experienced. We do not recommend this residential automatic door opener when multiple users will be opening the door manually. In this case please consider our 4300 commercial model.

Electric strike lock.
You will need to purchase our electric strike lock #4560S if you need to automatically unlatch the door when it opens. Failing this the automatic opener will shut down for safety reasons if it attempts to open while the door is latched to prevent damage to the door opener. If the door swings freely or you can install the blank strike plate included in your order to cover the latch you will not need the electric strike. If you are not able to open the door by pushing against it with your back without touching the door handle, you will need the electric strike.

Keyless Entry.
We offer a coded keyless entry #4437S to enable secure access from the outside should you prefer this option to a hand held remote or wall switch.

Battery Backup.
Should you need the door opener to function even when the power goes out our #4403BB battery backup for emergency egress is your best choice. This is only necessary if you are physically unable to open the door manually and no one is around to assist you.

Note:The strike is required if the door is latched. It will not open without it.

Installation Ease
• Complete instructions are packed with every remote door opener
• No modification of the door or jambs is required
• Plugs right into a regular 115vac wall outlet-9ft cord and plug included
• Virtually maintenance free (a couple of drops of oil and a bit of grease every year is all it takes)

Versatile Applications
• Fits in most interior and some exterior door applications
• Left and right hand handicap door openers are available
• Jamb mount (push door open) or door mount (pull door open)
Dimensions: 12.75 W X 6 H X 3.5 D
(Door Mount on pull side needs 3 1/2" back clearance and 3" above top of door for arm hub)
Weight: 10 lbs
Electrical: 115-1-60 (9ft power cord)
Cover: Gray ABS plastic
Cycle Time: 7-8 seconds to open and 7-8 seconds to close

Important Considerations when selecting this model:

The door must be plumb, square, and not warped.
The door should not stick to the jamb, or move within the jamb during the change of seasons.
The door should glide easily into the door-frame, and weatherproofing should not cause resistance when the latch closes into the latch plate.
When installed on a door providing garage access, the door and the garage door should be operated independently, as pressure differential can affect the proper cycling of the opener; in particular, drift.
An electric strike or ball spring should be installed to hold the door in the closed position.
The door should include a door stop such that the unit cannot open beyond 90 degrees.
The model 2300 residential handicap opener should not be installed on an exterior out-swing door because of wind force interference which may damage the arm and void the warranty.
