Our automatic door openers are designed to provide for easy opening and closing of interior and exterior doors. We offer both a light residential automatic door opener and a heavy duty ADA compliant commercial handicap door opener.

2300 Residential Jamb Mount Unit Application:
The 2300 Jamb mount is designed for light residential use where the door will be used primarily with this remote door opener. It will not perform well with multi users who do not use the electric opener to open the door as drag will be felt on the door and the arm may jump the fitting if the door is opened too quickly.

This automatic door opener opens the door when it receives a wireless signal from one of our optional hand held remotes (#4440T or #4440TK) or a wireless wall switch (#4466S). The door may be opened manually too but resistance similar to the 5th gear of a car will be experienced. This automatic door opener is not recommended for multi entry by others not using the door opener. In this case please consider our 4300 commercial model.

OPTIONS:
Electric strike lock.
You will need to purchase our electric strike lock #4560S if you need to automatically unlatch the door when it opens. Failing this the unit will shut down for safety reasons if it attempts to open while the door is latched. If the door swings freely or you can install the strike plate included in your order to cover the latch you will not need the electric strike. If you are not able to open the door by pushing against it with your back without touching the door handle, you will need the electric strike.

Keyless Entry.
We offer a coded keyless entry #4437S to enable secure access from the outside should you prefer this option to a hand held remote or wall switch.

Battery Backup.
Should you need the door opener to function even when the power goes out our #4403BB battery backup for emergency egress is your best choice.

Note:The 4560 strike  is required if the door is latched.

Important Considerations when selecting this model:
Ø    The door must be plumb, square, and not warped.
Ø    The door should not stick to the jamb, or move within the jamb during the change of seasons.
Ø    The door should glide easily into the door-frame, and weatherproofing should not cause resistance when the latch closes into the latch plate.
Ø    When installed on a door providing garage access, the door and the garage door should be operated independently, as pressure differential can affect the proper cycling of the opener; in particular, drift.
Ø    An electric strike or ball spring should be installed to hold the door in the closed position.
Ø    The door should include a door stop such that the unit cannot open beyond 90 degrees.
Ø    The model 2300 should not be installed on an exterior out-swing door because of wind force interference.

What is the difference between the 2300 & 4300 automatic door openers?

  • The Power Access Model 2300 automatic door opener is designed for light residential use and the 4300 is designed for ADA compliant commercial use. The 4300 may be used for residential applications too but the 2300 will not work in public high use applications.

Can the door be used without the handicap opener?

Can the model 2300 be installed on any type of door?

  • Handicapped door openers work on the pull & push side of a hinged door as either jamb mount or door mount. They should always be installed out of the weather which usually requires a door mount unit for an in-swing door and a jamb mount for an out-swing handicap automatic door.

How much maintenance is required for my automatic opener?

  • Our 2300 automatic openers are easily installed in 2-4 hours and require very minimal maintenance. A drop or two of oil and some grease is typically all that is required annually.

What options are available with the Model 2300 openers?

  • Our door openers automatic are available with a choice of wired & wireless wall switches & hand held remotes similar to a garage door opener. A coded key pad system is also available as is an electric door lock for added security.

  • Power Access automatic door openers all function manually during a power outage. For users who are not able to operate a manual door we also offer a battery backup system.

How long does it take for the door to open with the automatic opener?

  • The handicap door opener opens and closes the door in a seven second cycle time and includes an adjustable timed hold open feature for 0-30 seconds or a hold open feature that requires a signal to close.

Do I need electrical nearby for my automatic opener?

  • A 9ft power cord is supplied with the automatic door opener to plug into an outlet. We also offer an upgrade option for a 20ft cord.

Do I need a door closer to close my door?

  • The 2300 functions with the arm attached to your door so that it opens and closes the door without the need for a separate door closer.
